HIU SING FAN

 

Hong Kong Violinist Hiu Sing Fan is the Second Prize and Audience Choice Award winner at the 2025 Dallas International Violin Competition, a recent prizewinner at the Banff International String Quartet Competition, and ranked among the top six at both the 2025 Premio Paganini International Violin Competition in Italy and the 2024 George Enescu International Violin Competition in Romania.

As a soloist, Fan has performed with Camerata Salzburg, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, and the Dallas Chamber Symphony Orchestra, and has served as Guest Concertmaster of the Cologne Chamber Orchestra in Germany.

He has participated and performed in festivals including the Verbier Festival, Marvão Music Academy, Verão Clássico, as well as the Meadowmount School of Music, and the Great Mountains Music Festival and School. He has worked with notable artists including Leonidas Kavakos, Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider, Ferenc Rados, Aaron Rosand, Quatuor Ébène, and the Emerson String Quartet, and has performed under conductors including Christoph Poppen, Peter Bay, and Wing-Sie Yip.

Fan received the Cordelia Lee Beattie Foundation Scholarship and the Betty & Daniel Bloomfield Fund Scholarship during his studies at The Juilliard School, where he studied with I-Hao Lee and Hyo Kang. He earned his master’s and artist diploma degrees at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München in Germany, studying with Julia Fischer, Christoph Poppen, and Lena Neudauer. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Northwestern University under Gerardo Ribeiro.
